Sheila Patel Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer of International GSAM

Sheila focuses on the GSAM client business in EMEA and business management and strategy for GSAM Asia Pacific Ex-Japan. Sheila also serves on the GSAM Operating Committee and the IMD Client and Business Standards Committee. Prior to her current role, she served as co-head of Equities Distribution in Asia and before that she was head of US Derivative Sales and US Synthetics Sales in the Equities Division. Sheila joined Goldman Sachs in 2003 as a managing director and was named partner in 2006.


Kelvin Tan Head, Investment Funds, DBS Private Bank

Mr. Kelvin Tan joined DBS April 2013 after 4 years as Global Head of Managed Solutions Distribution in Standard Chartered Bank (SCB). At SCB, he was responsible for the Managed Solutions’ business covering Mutual Funds, Hedge Funds, Private Equity and Discretionary Mandates; across their private banking business in Singapore, Hong Kong, Dubai, Geneva, London, Jersey and Miami.  Prior to SCB, Kelvin held various roles in an 11 years career with Merrill Lynch. He has presented across Americas, Europe, Asia and Middle East on topics from Asset Allocation, Risk Tolerance as well as Building a portfolio with Managed Products.


Vineet Vohra Regional Head, Wealth Development, Asia Pacific HSBC

Based in Hong Kong, Mr Vohra is focused on the delivery of the Bank’s wealth management strategy by leading the build out of its wealth management capabilities across the region. Mr Vohra has over 20 years of seasoned and well rounded experience in retail banking, wealth and asset management in the Asia-Pacific region. Prior to joining HSBC in March 2012 to take up this regional role, he was the general manager of wealth management, Asia-Pacific, at ANZ, where he directed the development of the private and affluent wealth management platform across the region.


Edward Bonham-Carter CEO Jupiter Asset Management

Edward Bonham Carter joined Jupiter in 1994 as a UK fund manager after working at both Schroders (1982 - 1986) and Electra Investment Trust (1986 - 1994). Edward was appointed Chief Investment Officer in 1999 and Joint Group Chief Executive of Jupiter Investment Management Group Limited in May 2000. Edward became Group Chief Executive of the Company in June 2007 and relinquished his role as Chief Investment Officer in February 2010.

Kevin is responsible for overseeing investment activities in the region and ensuring that we maintain consistently high standards in our investment process, research and trading. Additionally he works closely with regional colleagues to ensure that our products and solutions meet the evolving needs of our clients. Prior to commencing his current role, Kevin was the Global CIO of Fixed Income and Currency, responsible for all fixed income and currency strategies.


Ben Rudd Head Overseas Investments Ping An of China Asset Management

Mr. Rudd has been the Head of Overseas Investment at Ping An of China Asset Management (HK) since 2010.  He oversees the Hong Kong based investment team and directly manages absolute return portfolios. Mr. Rudd is a member of the Shanghai based Asset Allocation committee for Ping An.  Mr. Rudd joined Ping An in 2008 as Head of Global Investment Strategy.


Alexa Lam Deputy Chief Executive SFC

Ms Alexa Lam is the Deputy Chief Executive Officer of the Securities and Futures Commission (SFC) and Executive Director, Investment Products, International & China.  Her role covers the regulation of the Hong Kong retail investment products market, SFC’s policies on international engagements, and market development in Mainland China and Hong Kong. Ms Lam promotes actively financial co-operation between the Mainland and Hong Kong, working closely with Mainland regulators and government authorities on new capital market reform policies and rules.  She is one of the principal architects of the development of Hong Kong’s offshore RMB business and RMB investment products.  


Stuart Green CEO, Asia Pacific Interbrand

Stuart manages Interbrand’s business interests across the Asia Pacific region including Interbrand offices in Japan, China, Korea, India, Singapore, Malaysia, Australia and New Zealand. He consults and advises senior management teams, including CEOs and their boards, on strategies for developing and exploiting their brand portfolios.. He has 26 years of international experience in brand management and design working across Europe, the US, the Middle East and Asia Pacific. 


Ken Segall Creative Director Apple

Ken Segall worked closely with Steve Jobs for 12 years as creative director at Apple. For the two men, simplicity became akin to a religion - simplifying products, interfaces, advertising, brand. Few people have as sharp an insight into one of the world’s biggest brands, a brand he helped form, as Ken. An advertising man by trade, Ken worked as a global creative director at Dell, IBM, Intel, and BMW before joining Apple just after Steve Job’s second spell in charge of the company. At Apple, Ken created the Think Differently ad campaign which re-launched the brand in the 1990s, and also came up with the ‘i’, first attached to the iMac, but then later the tag for all of Apple’s products.


Joanna Munro CEO Asia Pacific HSBC Global Asset Management

Joanna Munro has over 25 years of industry experience. She joined HSBC Global Asset Management in 2005 as Global Chief Investment Officer and became CEO of Multimanager in 2007, before becoming Global Head of Product in July 2010. Ms Munro was appointed CEO Asia in May 2011. Prior to joining HSBC, Ms Munro was responsible for UK institutional business and the global consultant relations team at AXA Investment Managers, and held senior positions at Salomon Brothers Asset Management, Barra Inc (USA) and ABN Amro Asset Management. Joanna started her career in 1986 at Prudential Portfolio Managers. 


Peter Alexander Managing Director Z-Ben Advisors

Mr. Alexander is the founder and managing director of Z-Ben Advisors, whose scope of business is to work with various foreign financial institutions interested in China’s investment management industry.Peter Alexander has actively participated in China’s investment management industry and, prior to establishing Z-Ben Advisors, worked on two different joint venture initiatives. His broad experience of China’s capital markets now spans nearly 20 years in Shanghai.

Roger Bacon Managing Director, Head of Managed Investments Citi Private Bank

Based in Hong Kong, Roger oversees all MI Product Sales, Tailored Portfolio Group (TPG) Origination and Sales and regional MI product administration. He is also responsible for coordinating the regional activities associated with traditional funds research, alternatives research, operational due diligence and TPG portfolio management through a matrix reporting line. Prior to his current role, he was Head of Hedge Fund business for UBP in London.


Lindsay Wright Co-CEO Harvest Capital Management

Ms Wright is currently Chief Executive Officer of Harvest Alternatives Investment Group and Co Chief Executive Officer of Harvest Capital Management; collectively the Alternatives arm of Harvest Fund Management Company Limited, the second largest asset management company in China. She is responsible for building from scratch the firm’s alternative presence and developing investment strategies for the firm’s principally private investing products which include; China focused Real Estate, Structured Credit, Private Equity and Capital Markets (Hedge Funds, Absolute Return and Structured Products).Ms Wright has extensive asset management, private investing and strategic and business development experience with over 26 years in financial services.


Simon Long Asia Columnist The Economist

Simon Long took up this post, based in Singapore, in August 2010. Before that, he had worked in London for four years, as the magazine's Asia editor, and for four years prior to that as South Asia bureau chief based in Delhi.
He joined The Economist in 1995, as South-East Asia correspondent, based in Bangkok. In 1998 he returned to London as finance and economics editor. In 2000 he became the deputy head of Global Agenda, The Economist's updated internet service, before moving to Delhi.


Mark Talbot Managing Director Asia Pacific ex-Japan Fidelity Worldwide Investment

Based in Hong Kong, Mark is responsible for Fidelity Worldwide Investment’s business throughout the region including the strong retail and institutional presence the firm has built on the ground in Australia, China, Hong Kong, Singapore, South Korea and Taiwan. Jed Laskowitz MD, CEO, Asia Pacific J.P. Morgan Asset Management

Jed Laskowitz is responsible for overseeing all aspects of J.PMorgan’s $100b Investment Management business in the region. An employee since 1996, Jed most recently managed the U.S. mutual fund business. Jed serves on the Investment Management and Global Funds Operating Committees, the management teams that oversee JP Morgan’s Global Investment Management business. Institutional Investor recognized Jed in 2009 for the growth of the U.S. Mutual Fund complex, which ranked 3rd in net flows that year.


Eleanor Wan CEO BEA Union Investment

Eleanor had an extensive background in various functional areas within the mutual fund industry in Asia, including overall business development, marketing, sales, client servicing, and general management. Before joining BEA Union in mid 2011 as its CEO, she was CEO of the Institute of Financial Planners of Hong Kong, leading the Institute’s efforts in promoting the professional standards of financial planners in Hong Kong. Prior to that, she was CEO of Allianz Global Investors Hong Kong Limited, where she was responsible for developing and implementing growth strategies and managing multinational distributors
